A Patta is a legal and significant document that acts as a revenue record of a particular piece of land. The government issues the Patta in the name of the landowner. It is also known as the “Record of Rights (ROR)”. A Patta comprises records of:

  • Dimensions or area of the land.

Chitta is a legal revenue document about a fixed property maintained by the individual Village Administration Officer (VAO) and the Taluka office. The document includes several important details such as size, ownership, area, etc. The primary objective of a Chitta is about the land type – Dryland (punjai) or Wetland (nanjai).
